Terms of use
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and [who runs SubbieSnap: a name and address, added before launch] ("we"), who run SubbieSnap. By creating an account, you agree to them. Please read them with our privacy policy.
1. What SubbieSnap is
- SubbieSnap is a job board. Firms post jobs and find subcontractors (subbies), subbies apply, and both sides review each other after the work.
- We're not an employment agency or employment business. We don't find work for anyone, employ anyone or supply workers, and we never take a cut of anyone's pay.
- Any agreement to do work is between the firm and the subbie, or the ganger for a gang. We're not part of it, and we don't handle payments.
- We don't check or vouch for anyone's documents, qualifications, insurance or work. The Companies House check shows what the public record says, nothing more. Check documents yourself, as you would at induction.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over, and use SubbieSnap for construction work in the UK.
- Use your real name, give accurate information, and keep it up to date.
- One person per account. Keep your password to yourself: you're responsible for what's done with your account.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the website.
3. Free for subbies, always
- Subbies never pay for SubbieSnap.
- It's free for firms too, for now. If we start charging firms, we'll say what for and how much first, and nobody pays without agreeing to.
4. Firms
- Only firms hiring for their own work can post jobs. Labour agencies and employment businesses can't, and posts from firms that look like agencies are held for review.
- Post real work, with an honest rate, start date and payment terms.
- Pay subbies what you agreed, when you agreed. Subbies say whether you paid on time, and that shows on your profile.
- You're responsible for your site, its safety and inductions, and for the checks the law asks of you, such as right-to-work checks and checking a subbie's tax status.
- Use the documents and phone numbers shared with you only for the job they were shared for.
5. Subbies
- Your profile and documents must be yours, genuine and in date. Never upload anyone else's.
- If you accept a job, turn up. If you can't, tell the firm as soon as you can. A firm can mark a no-show on your record.
- You're responsible for your own tax and insurance.
6. Gangs
- The ganger is responsible for the gang's profile, and must have each member's agreement before putting them forward for a job.
- Each member is responsible for their own profile and documents.
7. Reviews
- Only a firm and a subbie it hired through SubbieSnap can review each other, once the work's done. Reviews stay hidden until both sides have reviewed, or 14 days have passed.
- Be honest and stick to the work. No abuse, no discrimination, no personal details, and no reviews you've been paid or pressured to write or change.
- We remove reviews that break these rules or are false. We never remove a review just because it's negative. Each review can have one public reply.
8. Using SubbieSnap properly
Don't use SubbieSnap to:
- break the law, or post anything unlawful, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or sexual
- harass anyone, or get round a block
- post spam, scams or fake jobs, or advertise other services
- pretend to be someone else, or share someone else's personal information
- collect people's details, copy or scrape SubbieSnap, or interfere with how it works.
9. What you post
- What you post stays yours. You let us store it, show it and share it as SubbieSnap works, for as long as it's on SubbieSnap: for example, showing your profile to firms, or job posts to the public and search engines.
- You're responsible for what you post.
10. Reports and suspensions
- You can report a post, profile, review or message, and block anyone.
- We can remove anything, hold posts for review, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. Where we can, we'll say why. If you think we've got it wrong, email hello@subbiesnap.com.
11. Our responsibility
- We work hard to keep SubbieSnap running and accurate, but it's provided as it is, and we can't promise it'll always be available or free of mistakes.
- We're not responsible for what people on SubbieSnap say or do, the work they do, or whether they pay. Disputes about work or payment are between the firm and the subbie.
- We're not liable for lost work, profit or business. Otherwise, while SubbieSnap is free, our total liability to you is limited to £100.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow to be limited.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
13. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also go to your local courts.
